Powell man dead after motorcycle crash | News
A Saturday morning crash involving three vehicles turned deadly for a motorcycle rider from Powell.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a Dodge pickup truck traveling west on E. Emory Rd. had stopped in a curve near Hallbrook subdivision for a passing funeral around 11 a.m. Saturday.
The motorcyclist then ran into the rear of the truck. A small SUV then crashed into the truck.
The motorcycle rider, 19-year-old Dreyson Stewart died in that crash. A report says he was wearing a helmet.
Stewart's father, David Arnold, said there is a blind curve where the crash happened, and the rainy conditions might have been a factor as well.
Arnold said the memorial services for "Drey" will likely be Wednesday, but details had not been finalized.
The other two drivers involved in the crash were not injured. No criminal charges are expected.
