News

Crews took two people to the hospital late Monday night after a north Knoxville house caught fire. Doctors released one of the victims early Tuesday morning.

The fire started about 11:30 p.m. at a house off Clinton Highway. Firefighters rescued five people from the home, including two children. Several pets were inside the house, and at least one of them didn't survive.

Crews took a man and woman to the hospital for mild smoke inhalation.

At this point, there's no word on what started the fire.

The American Red Cross is working to find a place where the family can stay temporarily.
