East Tennesseans know that Sevier County is home to dozens of pancake houses. Now, one of them has moved to Knox County.

Flapjack's Pancake Cabin celebrated its grand opening Wednesday in Powell. This is the chain's first location outside of Sevier County.

The restaurant is known for its specialty pancakes and country-style breakfasts. They've even been featured in "southern Living Magainze"

Company officials say they believe this new location brings a lot of promise.

"There's been some growth from some of the competing breakfast and lunch chains that are mostly picking Turkey Creek and west Knoxville and Bearden. This is a thriving community with a ton of stuff going on and we just felt it was a great fit and so far that's been the case," said Cary Zimmerman, CEO of Collier Restaurant Group.

The restaurant offers more than breakfast food, like sandwiches, soups, and salads.

Flapjack's Pancake Cabin also gives back to the community by hosting pancake dinner fundraisers for churches, scout troops, or and other non-profit groups. The group provides the sales and table service while Flapjack's provides the tickets and the pancackes. For every $5 ticket sold, the group keeps half. Get more information here.
