Police ID two men involved in north Knoxville shooting

Update 9:48 am:

(WBIR) Knoxville police confirmed two men suffered possible life-threatening injuries following a shooting in a north Knoxville home.

A press release said Lamont Johnson, 22, went over to 57-year-old Charles Prater's house on East Churchwell Avenue to borrow money, and the two started arguing. During the fight, each of the men reportedly pulled out handguns and began shooting each other inside the home.

Stolen beer van recovered after hit-and-run

(WBIR-Knoxville) Knoxville Police officers say a beer van that was stolen last week was involved in a hit-and-run.

Monday afternoon, the truck was involved in a hit-and-run at the intersection of Tazewell Pike and Jacksboro Pike.

Raymond Medford Donahue, Jr., 42, has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.

The Rocks Tavern celebrates its grand opening

(WBIR) Folks in the Halls community now have a new sports bar to call their own.

Thursday, hundreds flocked to the grand opening of The Rocks Tavern on Maynardville Pike.

The sports bar has pool tables, karaoke, live music, and dart boards, along with a full menu and bar. Twenty-one TVs line the walls to make sure everyone can see their favorite teams play ball.

The owner says this kind of establishment is fairly unique to the Halls area.

Couple accused of making meth with 3 kids in the house

Update 1:08 pm:

(WBIR) Knox County deputies charged two people for making meth inside a north Knox County home while three young were children were inside.

KPD accuses suspect of slashing man's throat with box cutter

(WBIR) Knoxville police arrested and charged a man with attempted first-degree murder after they say he slashed a man's throat with a box cutter.

Officers responded to a report that a man was stabbed under the interstate near 313 N. Broadway. Investigators said John Earl Rowland, 52, walked up behind Coleman James Walker, 23, and slashed Walker's throat with a box cutter type of knife.

Police arrested Rowland a few hundred yards from the scene.
