The 33rd annual event is already in full swing at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church on Kingston Pike.  Authentic food, delicious pastries, live music, elaborate costumes and the dancing... all add up to one family favorite event.

Local tiki artist uses Kickstarter to carve his way into a world record

Gale Engelke of Powell is using the online fundraising tool Kickstarter.com to carve his way into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Engelke wants to carve a towering hollow Sycamore tree into a massive 21' tiki torch using traditional woodcarving tools.

So far folks have pledge $241 of his $3800 goal.

From Country Music Television to the Grand Ole Opry, The Black Lillies' Americana sound resonates on radio charts.

"You know when you walk on the Opry stage it's going to be fantastic," said Trisha Gene Brady.

With several Independent Music Awards, their most recent record, "100 Miles of Wreckage" is one of the Top 40 Americana Albums of 2011, pretty remarkable considering the band's only been together four years.

"We've all had our own separate journeys musically and through life and our roads brought us to Knoxville," said Cruz Contreras.

Vote to bring NBC's Today show to UT!

NBC's Today show will be on the UT campus on Wednesday, and you could help bring them back later this year!

UT is one of six finalists in "Kathie Lee and Hoda Go Back to College" challenge.  The winner will have the show broadcast live from campus in early October.

A Today Show reporter will be doing live segments from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday from the south side of Ayres Hall to introduce UT to viewers and kick off the voting.
