KPD: Teen suspect in birthday shooting arrested
News

(WBIR) Authorities have arrested a teenager who police said shot another teen on his birthday earlier this summer in northeast Knoxville.

Knoxville Police Department said it, along with the U.S. Marshall's Service, located the teen suspect Thursday morning near a restaurant on old Broadway in north Knoxville.

Police said the man was 17-years-old when he shot Brennan Nicholas, 19, on June 21, in the 4000 block of Ivy Avenue in Northeast Knoxville. According to KPD, June 21 is Brennan's birthday.

After the shooting, KPD said Nicholas was expected to be okay.

Because the suspect was a juvenile when the shooting occurred, KPD can not release his name. He has since turned 18.

KPD said he will be taken to the juvenile center and will be charged with one count of attempted first Degree murder and possession of a handgun during a felony.
