Codes enforcement hold sweep in the Belle Morris community
News

(WBIR-Knoxville) Knoxville City Inspectors hit the streets Tuesday morning for their annual codes enforcement sweep.

Inspectors walked the streets of the Belle Morris community in North Knoxville looking for potential codes violations.

This includes overgrown grass, excessive trash, and garbage cans left out on the street after pickup.

On Tuesday, inspectors walked around to look for these violations and filled out informational brochures that tell the property owners what needs to be fixed.

Codes Enforcement Manager Robert Moyers said no citations were issued today but there was between 50-100 brochures distributed throughout the sweep.

"People simply don't know. They don't know there is a codes violation or that they are in violation with the law. Everyone wants to have a nice, clean, and safe neighborhood. This helps in that effort," Moyers said.

If any of the property owners received a brochure, Moyers said they have 10 days to fix the potential codes violations.
