News

Officers said a suspect hid under a bed in his mother's house to escape police during a chase in north Knoxville.

An officer said he saw Orlando Glass, 18,, who was wanted on several warrants, walking on Hiawassee Avenue. When the officer tried to approached Glass, he said the 18-year-old ran off. After a brief chase, the officer said Glass jumped into a vehicle. Glass then jumped from the vehicle and ran into his mother's house on Hiawassee Avenue, according to a Knoxville Police Department release.

Police said the mother initially denied that her son was inside the home, but finally she admitted to officers that the 18-year-old was under a bed.

Officers charged Glass with fleeing and resisting arrest. Police said they'll also serve Glass with three outstanding warrants for theft, domestic assault, and failure to appear on a weapons charge.
