GPS leads to stolen car, suspects in carjacking case
News

Two juveniles are facing charges after a reported carjacking in north Knoxville.

Police say a woman reported a possible carjacking at 4454 North Broadway at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. She told officers she was sitting inside her vehicle in the parking lot when another vehicle pulled up and someone inside asked her for directions.

As the other vehicle began to pull away, two males got out of the vehicle and approached the victim with a knife. She told officers they threatened to hurt her and demanded that she give them her vehicle. She left the car and the suspects drove off inside it.

Officers tracked the vehicle to Adair Avenue using GPS and recovered it. The discovery of the vehicle led officers to identify and arrest the two suspects, who were each charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

The investigation into the incident is still underway.
